CIP seeking applications for postdoctoral fellow positions

The University of Washington‘s Center for an Informed Public is currently seeking applications for postdoctoral fellows who will be hired as postodoctoral scholars through the Information School and Department of Human Centered Design & Engineering.

  • Up to three postdoctoral fellows will be hired through the iSchool. Postdocs will work closely with the CIP’s co-founders and affiliate faculty, including sociologists, information scientists, computer scientists, and policy experts. Located in Seattle, the positions also offer opportunities for engagement with scholars and industry leaders in the area. In addition to the pursuit of individual interests, postdoctoral fellows will work collaboratively with affiliated faculty groups pursuing more narrowly specified projects. Fellows may pursue projects that utilize the CIP archive of large-scale social media data, as well as design and execute new data collection efforts that utilize existing research infrastructure.   • We are seeking to hire an additional postdoctoral fellow, also to be hired through the iSchool, with a focus on health and/or climate misinformation. Learn more about the position here.
  • Additionally, we’re seeking applications for a postdoctoral fellow, to be hired through HCDE, who will work on a National Science Foundation funded project titled “Building Rapid-Response Frameworks to Support Multi-Stakeholder Collaborations for Mitigating Online Disinformation” in collaboration with CIP co-founders Kate Starbird, Emma Spiro, and Jevin West, the postdoctoral scholar will lead the iterative design and evaluation of a multi-stakeholder, data science collaboration working to mitigate online mis- and disinformation.
